  16. Some days ago someone in this newsgroup already had the same problem we have
  17. came acress now. With a PAR installed in a PC an running the pre-release of
  18. LW for Intel we cannot get LightWave to write its image-files directly to
  19. our PAR-drive. We set the file-incrementation to FILE NAME, use TARGA as
  20. export-mode and set LWs naming-convention to NAME000.TGA.

  22. As soon as I call up the record-menu, click on SAVE RGB IMAGES and enter the
  23. drive-letter (of the PAR-drive), the sub-directory and the filename, Windows
  24. gives me an error-message that it can't access the chosen file and that I'd
  25. check my network-permissions (no network is in fact installed). This doesn't
  26. change, regardless of using NAME, NAME000, NAME000., NAME000.TGA or NAME.TGA
  27. as the file name. If I first create a dummy-file on the PAR with NAME000.TGA
  28. and select this in LWs save-rgb-images-requester the program accepts the input
  29. NAME000.TGA but obviously tries to save those files with another number and
  30. extension attached (resulting in NAME000.TGA000.TGA). This in turn gives me
  31. an error from LightWave as soon as the rendering is finished and LW tries
  32. to save the file.

  34. As I mentioned, I know that someone had the same problem and has solved it.
  35. Unfortunately, I don't have the message and hand (it expired last night :-(
  36. I checked for the contect of the message two days ago and it seemed to me
  37. that it should work the way we try it.

  39. So, who is actually rendering directly to the PAR using LW?
  40. How do you achive this? What software-version are you using?
